I’ve resided in Los Angeles my life that is entire and I don’t ever recall meeting anybody famous, despite having Hollywood in my garden. Nonetheless, as a result of USC, I feel like I’ve become somewhat of a celebrity among America’s teenagers (well, never to the known level of Taylor Swift or Justin Bieber) because thousands of students want to fulfill me personally every fall. As much as I’d like to think it’s me https://shmoop.pro/1984-by-george-orwell-points-to-ponder/ personally, high school seniors want to make sure I realize their strong curiosity about USC. They take the time to meet me at high college visits, at off-campus receptions, and during their campus visits. The target: to be sure I can put a real face to a name on an application. I don’t blame them. USC can be an extraordinary place where students can arrive at achieve their academic goals and prepare themselves with regards to their future careers. But as you’ll imagine, we meet 1000s of pupils throughout the fall semester and while i must say i make the effort to remember as many students possible, I’m maybe not getting any younger and my memory seriously isn’t the exact same.
My blog series ‘Do This, Not That’ is inspired by a book provided to me by my mother: Eat This, Not That (she thinks I require to drop a lbs that are few that’s not going to happen. Los Angeles’ diverse cultures has me trying foods that are different time!) Having said that, I’m here to deliver you with some advice on how to contact your admission counselor and make sure it is a meaningful experience for both events. Every morning i will be greeted with over 40 emails and instantly tell myself: ‘this is likely to be a long day.’ But as I filter through them, I understand these emails are from prospective students who wish to ‘introduce’ themselves if you ask me. Ends up, only four email messages have actually concerns that I need to answer. Three of them have quick easy responses (I’m glad we have this type of website that is thorough i refer to it when I do not keep in mind something). The final one, this one is special. A student asks me a question i have no idea the solution to and I can not discover the answer on the site. I’ll just take this challenge! My duty as admission counselor would be to ensure my students are well informed applicants. I understand this process is confusing and difficult to navigate but We will do my best to explain things for you. I shall do my research and answer your question. I actually don’t have most of the answers so when a learning student asks me something I actually don’t know, they truly are sharpening my skills. We appreciate this kind of interaction with students because this lets me know that they’re taking this admission process extremely seriously and they wish to make sure USC is a good fit for them. Therefore I challenge you to definitely challenge your admission counselor and ask them questions for your benefit. We’re ready!
