As most of my friends know, I’ve been on dating sites for well over 10 years. I’ve tried apps that ask me 100 questions, I’ve tried websites that match me based on religion, even tried websites that match me based on personality and not looks.
However, the single most baffling dating app in terms of logic is definitely Tinder. All this app does is show me pictures of women, and tell me to swipe left or right based on whether or not I like what I see. If I do like the picture, and they have liked mine, then we are matched. The app says “Keep playing” or “Send a message”. Keep Playing? So this is a game huh? I’ve sent messages to so many women on Tinder, yet I very rarely get responses. Now common sense tells me, if I am sending a woman a message, it’s because we were matched. So why the hell don’t the women respond if they have already shown interest in me??
Not only this, but I have yet to meet anyone from Tinder. It seems to be the most unsuccessful of all of the dating apps I’ve ever used in my life. Why it is so popular, is beyond my comprehension, although most people call it an addictive game that allows them to kill 5 to 10 minutes of time when they are bored or have nothing to do. Funny, I thought this was a dating app meant to meet someone to go on a date with. Boy was I wrong. I really am sick of swiping left and right, the novelty has worn off, and I’m officially done with Tinder.
