3 Reasons Why I Wouldn’t Date a Women That Smokes

There are times when the nightlife scenery is bombarded with women who socialize, binge drink, and chain-smoke. Aside from the nightlife, there are women who schedule smoke breaks during their workweeks. Women claim that cigarette smoke relieves the anxiety accumulated during a stressful workday. They also claim to enjoy the soothing feel that smoke (and nicotine) provides. Regardless of the justifications presented, I prefer not to date a woman that smokes. Here are three reasons why:

Smoking creates a bad body odor.

In smoke, there are odor-causing bacteria that mix with other elements of your body’s chemistry. During this natural occurrence, your body creates a distinctive body odor, which is then excreted through the pores of your skin. Although you bathe frequently, it could take several weeks for the body to rid itself of the odor causing substances. [1]

Smoking damages the way women have sex.

While sex in general is imperative, I find that performance of sex is more important. Smoking directly effects a woman’s blood circulation. Through this, limited blood flow may cause disruptions in the hormonal balances and therefore lead to a decreased libido (sexual desire). [2] Nicotine, found in cigarette smoke increases blood pressure. It is the release of epinephrine (adrenaline) that causes an increase in heart rate, blood force and respiration, as well as higher blood glucose levels. [3] Women diagnosed with high blood pressure find it difficult in having an orgasm. It is clear that the effects are comparable when considering that a flux in blood flow is a deterrent to performance during sex. Poor functioning in sex can result in poor relationship development. I rather save my time.

Smoking ages you.

Smoking doesn't do harm

Smoking can speed up the normal aging process of your skin, contributing to wrinkles. [4]  Smoking is also associated with skin damage on other parts of your body, including your inner arms. The aging is caused by the nicotine in cigarettes narrowing blood vessels in the outermost layers of your skin. The impairment of blood flow to your skin doesn’t allow it to get as much oxygen and important nutrients, such as vitamin A. While dating, I’d prefer to meet a woman who looks and feels her age. Smoking prohibits this sensation from occurring.

So there you have it folks, the top three reasons why I wouldn’t date a woman that smokes. I prefer to live a long and happy life with my potential partner. If smoking hinders this plan from happening, I’d rather save time and effort in finding a woman who respects her life by protecting her body.
